When should I buy seasoned firewood?
The ideal time to buy seasoned firewood is between July and September. This lets you stock up before winter demand peaks and ensures you have properly dried wood ready for cold weather.
What's the best way to store firewood?
Store firewood off the ground on a raised platform or pallet. Cover the top to protect from rain and snow, but leave sides open for air flow. Stack wood to allow good air circulation, preventing mold and continuing the drying process.
How do green and seasoned firewood differ?
Green firewood is freshly cut with high moisture content. Seasoned firewood has dried for 6-12 months. Seasoned wood burns better, creates less smoke, and produces more heat than green wood.
